“ANOTHER BUBBLE POEM” | Original Writings by Catherine Shumaker Brinson

“ANOTHER BUBBLE POEM” WAS ONE CATHERINE INCLUDED IN  “UNFINISHED SYMPHONY”, BUT IS IT COMPLETE?

I’ll let you decide.

Catherine was always a kid at heart. In cleaning out her house, I found several bottles of bubble blowing solution. This short and sweet poem about blowing bubbles is one that Catherine included in her self-made book:

In the book are many poems that she wrote, mostly during the 1990s, inspired by life events or whatever she happened to be doing at the moment. They’re divided into categories; Whimsy, Canticles of Praise, Family, Nature, and Unfinished Symphony.

As you know, I’m committed to publishing the materials that my mother, Catherine Shumaker Brinson wrote, researched, and gathered that relate to our genealogy.

Here is “ANOTHER BUBBLE POEM”, a poem in Catherine’s book, from the Unfinished Symphony category.

ANOTHER BUBBLE POEM

I’d love to blow a bubble as large as large can be.
I’d love to blow a bubble large enough for you and me.
We’d climb inside and sail away over hill and tree.

But bubbles burst and down we’d fall, skinning heel and knee,
So maybe riding in a bubble is not the best idea, you see.
So let’s enlarge the bubble, but keep the pretty hues.
