Here is “THE DEALERS”, a poem in Catherine’s book, from the Unfinished Symphony category.

THE DEALERS

I’m a dealer, a dealer, a dealer of cards.
I can deal from the bottom or the top of the deck.
I can take all your money in the name of good fun
And leave you a disheartened wreck.

I’m a dealer, a dealer, a dealer of sports.
I can sell you a win or a loss any day.
I can take all your money in the name of good fun
And leave your account empty till your next day of pay.

I’m a dealer, a dealer, a dealer of grass.
I can sell you a joint or an ounce of the weed.
I can take all your money in the name of good fun
And lead you on down to get hooked onto speed.

I’m a dealer, a dealer, a dealer of God.
I can lead you on to a better life,
One that’s uplifting but not empty of strife.

I’m a dealer, a dealer, a dealer of Jesus.
I tell you he came to die on the cross
To suffer our sins that our souls not be lost.

I’m a dealer, a dealer, a dealer of Christ
Who came to dwell in us without any price
……./????? to be continued maybe.
