William Dixon Ivey Scrapbook page 8 – Family or Friend Funeral

WILLIAM TAKES LOTS OF PHOTOS AT A FAMILY OR FRIEND FUNERAL. THERE ARE A LOT OF PHOTOS OF PEOPLE WHO I COULDN’T IDENTIFY.

I’d like to encourage you to load all photos and documents that you’re interested in keeping to your own flash drive. If anything happens to me, this website and everything on it will eventually disappear.

Ivey Genealogy Information and Photos Scanned and Uploaded September 8, 2022 – Family or Friend Funeral

The photos on page 8 are not numbered, so I arbitrarily numbered them from  1-32. They appear to have been taken at a family funeral, although, on genealogy sites, I can’t find any family member who passed away within the appropriate time frame.

1 through 8. Assorted unknown friends and family, and a building which could be the funeral home.

9. Orie Harvell Ivey

10 through 16. Assorted unknown friends and family, and someone’s home.

17. Orie Harvell Ivey

18. Is this William’s father, William Gautier Ivey?

The family resemblance is striking.

19 through 23. More assorted unknown family and friends, and a funeral bier.

24. Pallbearers?

25 through 28. More assorted unknown family and friends, and the burial site after the funeral.

29 and 30. William Dixon Ivey in a uniform.

Was he in ROTC at Auburn? Photo #30 is the only one recently that William wrote a notation on the back. The notation is:

F. 11
1/25
cloudy
Dec. 31, 1938
Anniston

31. Orie Harvell Ivey.

32. Sidney Eugene Ivey, William’s first younger brother.

That’s all for today. Let me know what you think in the comments below. Thank you for reading!
